I was thinking today of all the relationships that have come and gone in the past year. And I'm happy that I've had many different experiences. Both in friendship and romance, I try to take away something good from a brief or lasting connection with a person. I've made a short list of the things that I've gained, and aside from a few tears, I think it was all worth it.
From Mr. Chicago: This great cafe near La Poubelle. And a resolution to never date a guy with love handles ever again. Plus some good advice on pitching.
From Ms. New York: Some great fashion advice and an intimate knowledge of good pubs in NYC.
From Mr. Santa Monica: Something to dream about. And someone who I want to invite to my movie premiere as my date even if he's married to someone else.
From Mr. Atlanta: An accent that I can still hear in my head, and courage in my writing.
From Mr. Bangor: Memories of sushi and music, and tenderness.
From Mr. Trenton: 92.3. It's a nice break from 93.5 (once in a while).
From Mr. St. Louis: A deep understanding of Chuck Norris.
From Ms. Portland: A decision never to live with a friend ever again, and some nice furniture.
From Mr. New Haven: An exciting challenge.
From Mr. Paris: Unconditional love. No matter what.
From Mr. Brooklyn: Laughter, all the time, even right now, and someone who I feel like I can say anything to.
New Years Resolutions: floss every day, start up some yoga or swimming, and finish things I start.
